ABOUT ALYSSA

Alyssa Lauren Stone is a Bay Area-based writer, Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT® 200) with Yoga Alliance, and certified Reiki Master. For decades, she has used integrative medicine and alternative forms of healing to manage stress-related health issues from holding high-pressure roles in corporate sales and business development.

For over ten years in her previous life, she was a software sales executive in New York and Silicon Valley. Prior to tech, she worked in media and publishing sales, and graduated from New York University with degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication & Sociology (cum laude).

Her career shift from tech to health & wellness was induced by the pandemic, and realizing that “life is too short for coulda, woulda, shouldas.” She followed her original passions and went back to school for creative nonfiction writing at Stanford University and completed 200 hours of Yoga Teacher Training with Laura Burkhart Yoga in March 2023.

Even though she has been a certified Reiki Master since 2019 and has regularly practiced vinyasa (flow) yoga since 2008, she is grateful to finally have the opportunity to do what her soul desires most; to live her svadharma (her life’s true purpose), give back to her community, and share what her master teachers have taught for decades from both U.S. coasts:

How to live a healthier, more magical life.

Core Offering

Yoga, meditation & breathwork Classes

Scientific studies continue to show the many physical and mental benefits of a regular yoga practice. My teachings infuse breathwork with guided meditations, yoga philosophy, and alignment-based poses. Each shape is sequenced in a thought/soulful, vinyasa (flow). My goal is to make each class relaxing, challenging, and rewarding, so students can gain maximum benefits and go into the world both physically and mentally stronger.

Energy Healing

Reiki, which means “universal life energy,” is a Japanese tradition developed in the early 1900’s that is now used all over the world, including hospitals and hospices, to complement Western medicine treatments. I have undergone formal training to use gentle, yet powerful hands-on-healing techniques to restore the body’s sense of peace and overall wellbeing.

Writing / speaking

I am a nonfiction writer with a passion for telling true stories through reported articles, essays, and an upcoming memoir. I freelance for national publications about topics related to health, wellness, parenting, family, and spirituality. As a yoga teacher who infuses guided meditations and breathwork in her classes, I often speak about and teach mindfulness techniques.
