practice with me

Alyssa has undergone hundreds of hours of teacher training and over 1,000 hours of professional teaching experience as an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT®, YACEP) with Yoga Alliance.

Her primary teacher and mentor is internationally acclaimed instructor and author, Laura Burkhart. Alyssa is completing the next 300 hours of yoga teacher certification with Janet Stone at Stone Yoga School.

Through her teachers, she has learned how to sequence yoga poses to guide students into safe body alignment, maximize the body’s mobility, and how to energetically sync breath with movement using Vinyasa (flow).

Her intention is to honor Indian tradition while taking into account the latest knowledge of human anatomy. She incorporates mindfulness and contemplative practices, such as Vipassanā meditation, breathwork, and yoga philosophy, into her classes to cultivate inner peace.

She received her Level 1 certification to teach Restorative Yoga from its Founder, Judith Hanson Lasater, Ph.D. P.T., who studied with the late guru, B.K.S. Iyengar, author of “Light on Yoga,” often referred to as the “Bible of Modern Yoga.” She is expected to complete Level 2 with Judith in early 2026.

Currently, she is enrolled in the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program accredited by UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center, led by Jack Kornfield Ph.D and Tara Brach Ph.D.
